The Impact of Microclimate on the Reproductive Phenology of Female Populus tomentosa in a Micro-Scale Urban Green Space in Beijing

The spatial variation of poplars’ reproductive phenology in Beijing’s urban area has aggravated the threat poplar fluff (cotton-like flying seeds) to public health. This research explored impact microclimate conditions on female Populus tomentosa Taoranting Park, a micro-scale green space Beijing (range <1 km). observed phenophases covered flowering, fruiting, and seed dispersal, ENVI-MET was applied simulate effect SGS (start day growing season). results showed that significant existed at site. significantly affected by factors DMT (daily mean temperature) DMH heat transfer coefficient), with air temperature playing primary role.
